Wonderful Florence

Breakfast on our way to the Uffizi museum

3 cappucinos 1 bowl of fruit 2 crossants $45.00??
They charge $8.00 each to sit at the table.

Walking through the pedestrian streets is easy, not many mopeds.
The famous Duomo church

Neptune and David statues in piazza, this is only a copy of David, the real on is in the Accademia Muesum.

The most famous meal here is t-bone steaks 3 inches thick, we had one that we all shared.
Travis having a spritz at a bar down the street, everyone just sits on the window ledges and drinks

Lots of these 4 inch water fountains on the streets, they all have different heads in them.

One side of the amphatheater in the garden of the last Medici, wow 111 acres all together. Spent half a day here, just couldn't see all of it.

The back of one of the wings of the palace looking out on their amphatheater.
Lots of interesting old door knockers
This one was really large about 18 inches

Florence Apartment

Took the train from Venice (the high speed one) got here in two hours. Carried all 7 pieces of luggage up 3 tall flights of stairs. That was a challenge, you really have to plan ahead before you leave, the stairs are tough.
Great little apartment, three rooms and a loft.

Main bedroom

Livingroom with sleeping loft

Three story wak up Tough the first time with luggage

Venice food tour

 Visited the fish market
 Lots of lobster
Lots of these small one room cafes with appetizer and wine for the stand up crowd afterwork
Some of the selections from this stop
Lots of these cafes in these narrow streets

All these cafes have offerings that you just choose what you want to go with your wine
Looking into a small cafe kitchen

The oldest cafe in Venice was opened 30 years before American was discovered 1462.The ceiling has copper pots that were used to get water from the many wells in all the larger squares.

Some of our wine selections on the tour
In the back of the cafe above where people bring there empty large plastic water bottles and fill them from large kegs of their wines for about $2.75 per liter.
